What is a Life Coach?

A Personal Life Coach is someone who is qualified to support, challenge and motivate you to achieve your goals. A coach will help you to take actions to move yourself towards your goals; help you discover how to overcome obstacles; identify your strengths and weaknesses, and enable you to move forward much quicker than you would on your own.


How does Life Coaching work?

A life coach and a therapist both aim to help individuals improve their lives and reach their goals, but they approach it differently.

A life coach focuses on the present and future, helping individuals identify their goals and create a plan to achieve them. They provide support, accountability, and encouragement, and focus on empowering clients to take control of their lives and make positive changes.


A therapist, on the other hand, is trained to help individuals overcome mental health issues and emotional difficulties. They focus on exploring past experiences and patterns of behavior, and use that understanding to help clients heal and change their patterns. Therapists may also use techniques such as talk therapy, medication, or behavioral therapy to treat their clients.

In conclusion, while both life coaches and therapists can be helpful, the main difference is that life coaches focus on empowering clients to reach their goals, while therapists focus on treating mental health issues and helping clients heal.


What happens during a coaching session?

Each session will start with a review of the actions set in the last session and look at progress and success. We will then set a session goal to clearly set out what you want to achieve by the end of the day’s session. We will explore what has worked and any obstacles you have come across along the way in achieving this goal, using lots of techniques and creating options that you might not have thought of before.
